1. Who we are

ZAK WEARS ("ZAK WEARS", "we", "us", "our") is a clothing atelier based at Saadi Street, Capital Road, Sialkot, 51310, Pakistan. We design and make silk clothing and accessories, and we sell them through our atelier, our website at zakwearspk.com, and the ZAK WEARS mobile application distributed through Google Play (together, the "Services").

We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. This document explains, in plain terms, what personal and sensitive user data we handle, why we handle it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, how we protect it, and how you can have it deleted.

2. Scope of this policy

This policy covers all personal data processed through:

  • the ZAK WEARS website, including the enquiry form;
  • the ZAK WEARS mobile application for Android, including any account you create in it;
  • orders, fittings, alterations and made-to-measure commissions arranged by telephone, email or in person;
  • customer support conversations through any of these channels.

It does not cover third-party websites or services that we may link to. Those are governed by their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to read them.

3. Data we collect

3.1 Data you give us directly

  • Identity and contact data — your name, email address, telephone number, and the delivery and billing addresses you provide.
  • Account data — if you create an account in the mobile application: your email address, a securely hashed password (or a sign-in token where you use a third-party sign-in), and your display name.
  • Order data — the items you order, sizes, colourways, order value, order history, and delivery preferences.
  • Measurements — where you request made-to-measure or alterations, the body measurements you choose to give us. We treat these as sensitive and use them only to cut and fit your garment.
  • Communications — the content of enquiries, emails, messages and support requests, including any information you volunteer in them.

3.2 Data collected automatically

  • Device and app data — device model, operating system version, app version, language and region, and a randomly generated app instance identifier.
  • Usage data — screens viewed, features used, items viewed or saved, and crash and diagnostic reports, in aggregate or pseudonymous form.
  • Approximate location — derived from your IP address, and used only to estimate shipping options and currency. We do not collect precise GPS location.
  • Log data — IP address, request timestamps and referring pages, retained for security and fraud prevention.

3.3 Data we receive from others

  • Payment confirmation — our payment processors tell us whether a payment succeeded, the payment method type, and the last four digits of a card. We never receive or store your full card number, CVV or banking credentials.
  • Delivery status — tracking updates from the couriers who carry your parcel.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or call-log data. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your data for advertising by third parties.

4. App permissions

The ZAK WEARS mobile application requests the minimum permissions needed for the features you choose to use. Each is requested in context, and each can be declined or later revoked in your device settings without losing access to the rest of the app.

  • Internet and network state — required to load the collection, place orders and sync your account.
  • Camera — optional, and requested only if you choose to photograph a garment for a support enquiry or alteration request. Images are uploaded only when you confirm; the app does not access your camera in the background.
  • Photos and media (read) — optional, and requested only when you attach an existing image to an enquiry. We access only the file you select.
  • Notifications — optional, used for order and delivery updates. You may turn these off at any time.

We do not request access to your contacts, SMS messages, call logs, precise location or device storage beyond the files you explicitly select.

5. How we use data

  • To take, make, fit and deliver your order, and to arrange alterations or returns.
  • To create and maintain your account, and to authenticate you securely.
  • To answer enquiries and provide customer support.
  • To process payments through our payment providers and to prevent fraud.
  • To keep the Services working — diagnosing crashes, fixing defects, and improving performance and accessibility.
  • To send transactional messages about an order you have placed.
  • To send occasional news about new arrivals, but only where you have opted in, and with an unsubscribe link in every message.
  • To meet our legal, tax, customs and accounting obligations.

We do not use your data to make decisions about you by automated means alone, and we do not profile you for advertising.

7. Sharing and disclosure

We share personal data only with the categories of recipient listed below, only to the extent needed, and only under written terms that require them to protect it and to use it for no other purpose.

  • Payment processors — to take payment and to process refunds. They receive your payment details directly; we receive only the confirmation described in section 3.3.
  • Delivery and courier partners — your name, delivery address and telephone number, so your parcel can reach you.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers — who store data on our behalf under contract.
  • Crash reporting and analytics providers — who receive pseudonymous device and usage data to help us find defects.
  • Professional advisers — accountants and lawyers, where necessary and confidential.
  • Authorities — where we are legally required to disclose, or where disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety or property of a person.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertising networks. If ZAK WEARS is ever involved in a merger or acquisition, personal data may transfer to the successor entity, and we will tell you before that happens and before any change to this policy takes effect for you.

8. How we protect data

  • All data in transit between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS.
  • Data at rest on our servers is encrypted, and backups are encrypted as well.
  • Passwords are stored only as salted, one-way hashes. Nobody at ZAK WEARS can read your password.
  • Access to customer data is restricted to the small number of staff who need it to do their job, and is logged.
  • We review access rights and dependencies regularly, and apply security updates promptly.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal data and is likely to present a risk to you, we will notify you and the relevant supervisory authority without undue delay, and tell you what happened and what to do about it.

9. How long we keep data

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as the law requires.

  • Account data — for as long as your account is open, and for 30 days after you delete it, to allow recovery from accidental deletion.
  • Order records and invoices — for 7 years, as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Measurements — for 3 years after your last commission, so that repeat orders fit, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
  • Support conversations — for 2 years.
  • Crash, diagnostic and analytics data — for up to 14 months, in pseudonymous form.
  • Server logs — for 90 days.

When a retention period ends, data is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.

10. Deleting your data

You can ask us to delete your account and the personal data associated with it at any time, and you do not need to give a reason.

In the app

Open the ZAK WEARS app and go to Settings → Account → Delete account. You will be asked to confirm. Deletion begins immediately and completes within 30 days.

By email or telephone

Write to privacy@zakwearspk.com with the subject line "Delete my data", from the email address on the account, or telephone +92 300 671 8425. We will verify that the request is genuinely yours before acting on it, and we will confirm in writing once it is done.

What is deleted, and what is kept

Deletion removes your account, profile, saved measurements, saved items, delivery addresses and support history. We are legally required to retain invoices and transaction records for completed orders for 7 years; these are retained in a restricted accounting system, are not used for any other purpose, and are deleted when that period ends. Backups are purged on their normal rotation, within 90 days.

You may also request deletion of a specific category of data — your measurements, for example — while keeping your account.

11. Your rights

Subject to the law that applies to you, you have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Delete your data, as described in section 10.
  • Port your data — receive it in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing, including direct marketing.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
  • Complain to a data protection authority in your country.

To exercise any of these, write to privacy@zakwearspk.com. We respond within 30 days, and we do not charge for a reasonable request.

12. Children's privacy

The Services are intended for adults. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16 years of age. We do not build content, features or advertising aimed at children.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact privacy@zakwearspk.com and we will delete it promptly. If we become aware of such data ourselves, we will delete it without waiting to be asked.

13. International transfers

We are based in Pakistan. Some of our service providers — hosting, crash reporting, payment processing — operate servers in other countries, so your data may be processed outside the country you live in.

Where data is transferred out of a region whose law restricts such transfers, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, and we require the same standard of protection described in this policy regardless of where the data sits.

14. Cookies and similar tools

Our website uses a small number of cookies and equivalent local storage keys:

  • Strictly necessary — to keep you signed in, remember the contents of a basket, and protect forms against abuse. These cannot be switched off without breaking the site.
  • Preference — to remember choices such as language and region.
  • Analytics — optional, aggregated, and used to understand which pages are useful. Set only where you have agreed.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. The mobile application does not use advertising identifiers and does not track you across other apps or websites.

15. Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices change or when the law requires it. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.

If a change materially affects how we handle your personal data, we will give prominent notice — in the app, on this website, or by email to the address on your account — before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Services after that point means you accept the updated policy.
